§ 38-10. Prohibited conditions.
(a)
Obstructions to doors, windows or fire escapes. No sign shall be erected, relocated or maintained so as to prevent free ingress to or egress from any door, window or fire escape, nor shall any sign of any kind be attached to a standpipe or fire escape.
(b)
Signs not to constitute traffic hazard. No sign or other advertising structure as regulated by this chapter shall be erected under the following conditions:
(1)
At the intersection of any streets in such a manner as to obstruct free and clear vision;
(2)
At any location where, by reason of the position, shape or color, it may interfere with, obstruct the view of or be confused with any authorized traffic sign, signal or device; and
(3)
Which makes use of the words "stop," "look," "drive-in," "danger" or any other word, phrase, symbol or character in such manner as to interfere with, mislead or confuse traffic.
(c)
Spotlights and floodlights. No person shall maintain any sign which extends over public property which is wholly or partially illuminated by floodlights or spotlights.
(d)
Obscene matter. No person shall display upon any sign or other advertising structure any obscene, indecent or immoral matter.
(e)
Adhesive-type, sticky backed signs. It shall be unlawful to affix to any aluminum poles in the village, adhesive-type, sticky-backed signs.
